Highway 16 Quilters, Quilt Show

Hi all I went to the Highway 16 Quilters Show yesterday and saw some beautiful quilts. It was a great day out with friends Fiona and Maria. I had not been to Kumeu before so that was nice to go somewhere different too. Here's a few photos I took.

'Gridlock' a kingsize quilt made by Annette Broomhall was my 'Viewers Choice' for a large quilt. The little nine patches were 3 inches and the colours glowed, not really caught in the photo so you'll have to take my word for it!

And I chose this for my 'Viewers Choice' small quilt, but it had no label so I can't tell you who made it.  :-(   The hand stitching was really lovely though and I hope it wins!

Here's a view down one of the aisles, and below is a photo of the 'Husband Creche'. A chair and some man mags, fishing, cars, trucks etc (not girly!) Also there's the fire extinguisher in case a Husband has to turn into a super hero and save the quilts from fire!

Thanks Highway 16 Quilters for a great day out, I look forward to reading your next newsletter to see if 'my' choices win.
