North Habour Stadium |
Yesterday I went to Auckland with a few friends to Auckland Guild's Show, at North Habour Stadium. There was heaps to see, and buy.
The show is on today, and Sunday too. It's a great day out so if you can go!

Just inside the entrance was one of the most fun displays. AP&Q's Mid-Year Block Challenge.
How the Block Challenge worked |
Purple Blocks |
More Purple. |
Orange Blocks |
More Orange Blocks |
Turquoise Blocks |
And last Turquoise Blocks. |
All these blocks were amazing and I really liked the idea of the Challenge. I like the idea that it's 'only' one 'Block' too. Much more achievable!

I took very few photos yesterday, just enjoyed looking at everything and of course shopping too. But here are two that I really liked.
The first is a great scrap quilt by Carol Fearon, so fun, and the quilting was beautiful. (see detail below)
Sorry terrible photo! "Scrap-a-licious" made and quilted by Carol Fearon. |
I couldn't fit it all in the photo! |
I loved the quilting on this quilt, each colour band was quilted differently.
Here the pink band is flowers, the green band had leaves the grey at the bottom was pebbles etc.
The next quilt I loved is this beautiful Lone Star made and quilted by Lori Neels.
I would like to make a Lone Star one day so I'm drawn to them at Quilt Shows.
Too big to fit all of it in the photo again, but isn't it beautiful? |
So if you can get to Auckland to see the show, do. It's great.
P.S. Raewyn of Love to Stitch went yesterday too, she took heaps of photos so pop over to her blog and have a look. Bye
Hi Leeann, didn't see you amongst the crowds yesterday but sounds like you had a good day!(I've just linked you to my post!)
