Somehow I forgot to take a photo of the label, oops. 'Conquering' is an interesting word to use, in the media the softer word- rebuild is usually used.

"Ode to Tron" by Sue Pope - Hamilton
Loved the use of different size blocks & modern fabrics to jazz up this traditional block design into a modern quilt.
From the tutors exhibit, I liked a lot about this quilt. The big stitch quilting, the large simple shapes of the flowers/leaves, and the different pink background fabrics.
The quilting was just so good on this quilt, it really made it something special.
Which block do you see first?
I saw the 'Drunkards Path', but most friends I asked, see the 'New York Beauty' first.
Wool with lovely big stitches in wool too.

This was a very popular quilt and I think it would have received a lot of votes for viewers choice.
Loved the use of 'word' fabrics in the background. Takes me back a few years to happy days at Play Centre with my boys.
All the colour was stitched or couched. Reminded me of string pictures from my childhood.

That's a great selection and it's nice to view them through someone else's eyes and read what they had to say about them. Mathea was blown away by her win!

As in, not good that it's sold out but good that there is so much interest shown!
