WP&QC Quilt Show 2016 (8)
This was a very popular quilt, with a lot of Show Visitors spending time talking to Rikki (quilt maker) about the Going Family. I like how Rikki used coloured frames to show the different branches of the family.
I set up my sewing machine in the Bounty Room, beside Rikki who was hand quilting a Lone Star quilt in her Q-Snap floor quilting frame. It was fun talking to members of the public as we worked.
Charlotte Scott was a Guest Exhibitor/Demonstrator (and she Judged our Challenge too!) This photo was taken early in the morning before she arrived. Charlotte demonstrated how she freehand cut her hand dyed silk organza (on the table) then layered the fabric to build a landscape.
Ambassador from the SPCA!
We had daily raffles of hand made bags at the Show with proceeds going to the SPCA. I forgot to take photos of the bags :-(
There were about ten each day to be won, and a big variety of bags, hopefully someone else took some photos and then I will be able to show them another day.
Made to help advertise the Show this car was parked around Whangarei in the week before the Show opened.
Club members donated their orphan blocks and Jane & Shona worked tirelessly to make them into this car cover.
This toy car got the quilted treatment too, and became our Quilt Police!
