Show n Tell July 2014

We had a smaller than normal turn out last Saturday (because of roads still being closed from flooding), but there were still some lovely Show n Tell to share.

Jean Nutter said she got this patten years ago and wanted some hand stitching, so decided it would be a good project to hand applique. Her grand daughter  has 'bagged' it for her new home.

Yvonne Davies has started making quilts for her great nieces and nephews. This one is for Mia.
Yvonne said when she started this major project there were 13 nieces and nephews, now there are 15!

Jenny Gough made this lovely bag using fabric and a pattern, she bought on holiday a few years ago in the USA

Jenny Gough has made this quilt for her grand daughters wedding in November. Jenny said her grand daughter is an old fashioned girl so she would love this heritage style.

The sun was shining through this quilt when the photos were taken, so I'm sorry the detail doesn't show as well as I'd like. But it was amazing, very subtle colours and lovely hand stitching.

Close ups of a couple of blocks.
Above- There were a few photo's in the quilt (I'm guessing this is the Bride's parents)
Below- Another block using Doilies

This is a goodwill quilt pieced from the blocks donated to club last month. Well done everyone who made blocks.

  1. The weather sure has made it tricky for some. My favourite would be the creamy lace & doiley quilt, a real heirloom

  3. Still a good turnout considering the weather. Hopefully everything will be back to normal by the next meeting. My favourite is the Garden Beauty. One day I'm going to conquer my fears and make a tricky looking NY Beauty block :0)
