I meet up with my friend Donna at the Hamilton show and we had a great day together catching up, looking at quilts, and of course shopping at the Merchant Mall. Shows are always better when shared with someone else.
So now I'll share some of my favourite quilts from the show with you too.
This quilt made me gasp when I turned the corner and saw it. Just amazing, I loved it!
The faces of the girls are incredible. This was the runner up, but I think I would have chosen it as the winner.
This was the winner, it was impressive but didn't hang flat.
detail showing how some segments where painted with metallic fabric paints.
I really liked the textures of the background, and the quilting too.

The bees just made this quilt for me! Loved them.

The colours of this really glowed.
I really liked the applique on this one, and how it was 'woven' around the pieced blocks.

Thanks for sharing those beautiful quilts. I didn't get across to Hamilton this time so missed seeing them all.
ReplyDeleteInteresting tea cosies too!
WOW!! These are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!
ReplyDeleteWow, beautiful, Leeann - thank you for sharing these photos!! And the crochet and knitting freeforming from your previous post are pretty cool, too.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed that special 'FREE' exhibition too - and loved the horse quilt. Interesting how many people made quilts depicting dandelions!
