Taupo Quilt Symposium Preparation’s….

Yesterday I bought my first ever pair of PJs, for the cold nights in Taupo. I wore them last night to test them and I had to strip off as they were so hot!

My husband thinks I’m nuts going to Taupo in winter, but I won’t be alone there will be another couple of thousand quilt nuts like me there. Are you going to the Taupo Quilt Symposium too? How are your preparation’s going?

My choice was between flowers or cats so the cats won!

Christchurch Trip

I was talking to a friend the other day (they want to remain nameless!) who asked me when I was going to post some photo's from Christchurch. So Here are some, just a few so you don't get too bored :-)


One of my favourite things in Christchurch was the Pallet Pavilion which is of of many Gap Filler Projects, to creativity use vacant sections.


It's an amazing project and I had a great time looking at all the different stalls.

Here's one of my purchases for the Pallet Pavilion. Old Dr Who comics. Yes I love Dr Who, have since I was a child and my older brothers chased me around the house pretending to be Daleks.


Another place I have always loved is Libraries so I popped my head into a branch in the city centre. I was impressed by how many Quilt Magazines they subscribe to. (Just to have a little quilt related content!)


Onto a walk around the CBD now that most of it is opened. There were lots of old facades being saved like this so new buildings can bebuilt behind them.


Only the very centre around the Cathedral is now cordoned off with the Army checking workers in and out.

June Show n Tell (Thanks to Sonya)

When I checked my email today I found a couple from Sonya with photos of last Saturdays Show n Tell. So Cinderella you can go to the ball. So you can enjoy Show n Tell after all :-)

I hadn't asked anyone to take photo's for me, so I was pleasantly surprised to find them. Thanks Sonya I appreciate the time and effort involved, getting the photos to me.

These two Rail Fence quilt tops are charity quilts that were started a couple of weeks ago at a club working day. Both have turned out wonderful and I look forward to seeing them next club today (hopefully quilted)

Helen Barron made this charity quilt with the help of some friends at a weekend retreat.

 It will soon be with the little girl it was made for (just the binding to finish)

And last but not least a quilt made by Elaine Healey for Starship Childrens Hospital
