I'm just back from a Girls Week Away, sewing at Opononi. It was a great week, lots of sewing, talking, eating, and walking on the beach. Lily especially enjoyed the walks on the beach.

We were lucky with the weather while we were there away, lots of sunshine so we could enjoy our walks.

Two men, a dog, one caravan and tractor

It was common to see boats being towed, but we also saw caravans and a horse and cart. It was like going back in time really.
I was a bit slow to grab the camera to catch the horse and cart, but here it is in the distance!

You guys got heaps done! Were you tempted at all to call your border a "cheddar board" design? Love your sparkle punch (glad no unpicking was required) - and aren't you thinking you are glad you're home with this terrible weather???
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great time, lots of sewing done. Love the surfing quilt, so nice and bright. And the horse quilt is great too. My grand-daughter would like another quilt and she just has to have horses in it too, not quite sure what I'll do at this stage.
ReplyDeleteWow looks like a great time!I love Fiona's horse quilt! You did a great job with the panel of emergency vehicles.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place to have a retreat - I'd be too busy looking out the window to get any sewing done. Your Sparkle Punch looks gorgeous - def putting it on my to-do list. Just come back from our retreat, all puffed out and gotta go work a night shift tonight. Ug.
