Mark came home this weekend! It has been great to have him here, and I finally gave him his quilt to take home. Other times he has been home he had no luggage space to take it back to Sydney. (Also last time I hadn’t finished quilting it either!)
Here he is checking out all the NZ fabrics.
I collected heaps of New Zealand themed fabrics to make this quilt, and like any good quilter I have heaps left over.
This is the simple label I made for the back, with simple washing instructions! I hardly ever make labels quilts (I know I should). What about you, do you make labels for every quilt, or just ones you are going to give away?
This was one of my favourite quilts at the exhibition - glad to see it going to a great home. How on earth can someone as young as you have such a great big son?? I bought some preprinted twill tape labels printed with my name and location which I (should) put on all my quilts, and I put some handwritten labels on my kids quilts (incase they ever get passed onto grandchildren or anything), but other than that - I'm pretty useless.
ReplyDeleteHe will be pleased to finally be able to have his quilt. Love your label. I definitely put labels on the gift quilts and fully intend to put them on all the rest....!
ReplyDeleteWhat a GREAT idea to put washing instructions on the label! I label all my quilts, but it is the least favorite thing for me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine looking son you have, Leeann! He looks very pleased with his quilt too.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of NZ fabric...I hate the idea that we never see any of it in the states...the prints look FANTASTIC! He looks pretty proud of that beauty.
ReplyDeleteI scrolled through other posts...you have quite a gathering of talented quilters around you...that's very cool!
I couldn't leave comments for you before...I think it was my browser (Firefox). I went back to Internet Explorer this afternoon, which also didn't work before, but today it is. This blogging stuff is making me nuts! Thanks for all your help!
In stitches,
Teresa :o)
Mark looks pretty wrapped with the quilt. I loved the label! Yes I do label my quilts but they are normally done at the last minute and without much consideration and are boring compared to your label. I do include washing instructions on my labels especially if they are a gift and I know that the recipient isn't a quilter.
