There were a few 'Tapa' quilts as the group had done a class with Hazel Foot. They were all very different, yet the same if you know what I mean!
And just like that it was all over. What took a few hours to hang, only took about 20 minutes to take down.
After the show I had a wee walk (and a banana fritter- a must have from the local takeaways).
Then I went around to the beach in front of the school, and found since I was there last, they now have a nice path and stone wall. It was just a sandy slope before. There are steps to walk down to the water in the middle too.
This bit is a beach at low tide (obliviously it's high tide at the moment). I decided I didn't want to walk over thru the water, but several people were.
I did enjoy watching the Oyster Catchers, flying around in pairs. There were about ten pairs going about their business. I managed to catch this pair flying by.
All in all it was a lovely relaxing afternoon and I'm glad I went.

Ngunguru Quilt Show- Part One
Yesterday I went to Ngunguru for their Quilt Show and had a lovely time. The weather was great and there were heaps of families out enjoying the sun.
Tides in, I should have had a walk on the beach before going to the quilt show, as the beach has disappeared! Still managed to have a pleasant walk anyway.
OK on to some quilts. Here are a few and I'll post some more tomorrow, enjoy.

Show n Tell October 2015
It was nice to be back in our usual venue (Maunu School Hall) after the cramped, but nice Vintage Car Club rooms. Taking photos of the Show n Tell was so easy with all the space!

The guest speaker at the meeting was Charlotte Scott (the slightly mad quilt lady). Charlottes talk covered so much, from how her style has evolved, to blogging and podcasting, and to running a gallery. Please go and visit Charlottes blog (link as above-her podcasts are there too). And if you are near Opua, a visit to her Gallery is well worth it.

The Gallery's location circled in red, just on the end of the Opua Marina.
