May Club Meeting

The Club Meeting was a bit different this month, we had an Open Day.

Several members demonstrated different things from free motion quilting to hand piecing and lots in between. 

This little girl was very interested in Lynne's thread painted work.

I think she won the special raffle for visitors, (a basket of sewing supplies and fabric), so we may get a new quilter :-) 

We also had Leeanne Hopper professional machine quilter (Quiltmekiwi) as our guest speaker. 

She bought a lot of show n tell of quilts see had quilted to share. 

She spoke about how she started quilting for others, as a means to feed her own quilting hobby!

Her tips were practical ones of stitching in the ditch first, and of course practice. 

After she spoke we all had a closer look at her beautiful quilting.
