WPQC Christmas Meeting 2017

It was a nice club meeting yesterday, the last for this year. Of course there was a yummy lunch, extra raffles, the Xmas Challenge and more.

But the most special event was the naming of two new Life Members.
Both were completely surprised and overwhelmed, which made it all the more special.

The new Life members are Lynne O'Donnell and Leonie Wihongi.

Congratulations  Ladies and well done to the club committee for keeping it secret.

The Club also now has it's own facebook page, use this link to check it out. Hopefully they will have photos up of our new Life members and the Xmas Challenge Winners soon.

And lastly here are some of the clubs charity quilts. We voted on which charity to donate them to at the meeting.
Donated to Women's Refuge

Donated to The Salvation Army

Donated to Habitat for Humunity

Donated to Hospice

Auckland Festival of Quilts 2017 (2)

Second lot of photos from the Auckland Festival of Quilts.

I have taken a photo of the whole quilt, then sometimes a detail photo, and then the labels and another of their ribbons if won.

I did have a Dr Who Quilt photo here it has been removed as the photo was stolen and used fraudulently

Show n Tell November 2017

There were more on display than this, but I arrived too late to take photos before the meeting started, and then got caught up talking at the end of the meeting! So here are the few that were still hanging (most had gone home with their owners)

Both of these quilt tops are made by Helen Barron at Symposium.
