Whangarei Patchwork and Quilt Club is proud to host Susan Brubaker Knapp in May 2016

Enjoy a weekend with SUSAN BRUBAKER KNAPP:  Internationally renowned Host of Quilting Arts TV, Quilt Maker and Designer, Teacher, Author, Fibre Artist.

The Artist in You:
A one-hour digital slide show and trunk show.   Susan describes her personal journey from that of a traditional quilter and pattern designer to an artist who makes both traditional quilts and art quilts. Starting by discussing her work (both traditional and art quilts) and some of the techniques she uses. The focus is on ways for traditional quilters to become more creative by embracing their own “inner artist.”
Friday 20th May, 7pm at the Northland Vintage Car Club rooms, Heritage Park, Maunu, Whangarei.                                                                                Cost $5 (includes supper).

Workshops:
Two one day workshops will follow - Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 May 2016.  9am -4pm
Saturday’s class is all about reproducing your photos on cloth and Sunday follows on
with Thread sketching techniques to enhance your picture quilts.  Both these workshops have been chosen because they are suitable for all levels of ability and experience.

Saturday 21May:

Sunday 22 May: Thread Sketching: Snowflakes

Anyway I do remember the Keri keri Quilt Show. It was a nice day out. Here are a few photos I took of quilts that appealed to me. Better late than never!!!!
